Ragi Idli Upma/Finger Millet Savoury Cake Upma

I had few number of Ragi idlis left over. As any housewife would think the way to finish them off by turning it into another delicacy, I tried Ragi Idli Upma
Here goes the recipe.


Ragi Idlis- 4-5 in number
Onion- 1 finely chopped
Tomato-1 finely chopped
Green chillies-3-4 finely chopped
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Udad dal/Skinned split black gram-2 tsp
Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
Coriander powder- 1 tsp
Turmeric powder/haldi-1/4 tsp
Oil-2-3 tsp
Curry leaves-2 sprigs
Salt to taste

Add oil in a pan. Once hot add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, udad dal and let them splatter.
Once done, add onion and green chillies, curry leaves and saute well.
Once translucent, add turmeric powder and saute well.
Now add tomatoes, salt and mix well.
Now add coriander powder and saute.
Dice ragi idlis into small pieces and add them.
Mix well for few mins and serve hot.
