Pav Bhaji

Pav Bhaji
A yummy maharashtrian street food.
Any one would love to eat them at any time.Lets not waste time but learn how to make this yummy dish Pav bhaji

Ingredients:

You need to have variety of vegetables.
onions-1 finely chopped
tomatoes 1 finely chopped
bell peppers-1 each (red, green, yellow) finely chopped
cabbage-1 small cup(1 small piece will do) finely chopped
potatoes-2 finely grated
carrot-1 finely grated
french beans(8-10)-finely chopped
green peas(tender green peas)(frozen peas will do)-1 cup
coriander leaves/cilantro
lemon-half piece
pav bhaji masala(any brand-everest or mdh) 2 tablespoon
chilly powder-1/4 teaspoon
turmeric powder-1/2 teaspoon
ginger garlic paste-1 teaspoon
green chilly-1 finely chopped
oil-2 tablespoon
salt to taste
butter-125gms

Recipe:

Take oil in nonstick pan,pop in jeera to it,let them splatter.
Then add onions, fry till golden brown.
Add green chilli, fry and then add ginger garlic paste to it.
Let it cook for 2 min and then add beans, carrot, potatoes.
Cook for some time.If u feel it is dry just sprinkle little water.
Then close and cook for 5 min.
Add cabbage, tomatoes, bell peppers and saute all vegetables once.Sprinkle water whenever you feel it is dry.
Cook closing lid for another 5-10 minutes
Now add chilly powder, turmeric powder, salt and water just enough to cover vegetables in the nonstick pan
Let it cook for another 5 min
now open the lid and using a masher mash the vegetables that are getting cooked on the stove.
Add little water and cook for 2 min.
Now add pav bhaji masala to it and again mash the entire content on the stove top.
Let it boil simultaneously.Be careful, chances of splattering are there when you mash.
now when u feel it is properly mashed and has enough water to keep its semisolid texture, add tender green peas.Anymore you are not supposed to mash else tender green peas will get mashed which you should not do.
Now cook open for few min say 2-4 mins.
Time to add butter cubes to the top.
Switch off the stove and to it just sprinkle lemon juice.
Then add coriander leaves/Cilantro on top.
You can garnish with onions, tomatoes and lemon
I couldnt wait till garnishing. So had it without that.
You can do that garnishing part though.
On a flat tava melt butter, keep pav(it should not be sweet.Any bread which is not sweet)
and let it roast till golden brown on one side and you aer ready to go along with the bhaji.
